The 2021 Seed Garlic Crop is asleep!
We grow many varieties of hard and soft neck garlic.  We sell our garlic at the Farmers' Markets we attend, through our CSA, at the farm by appointment and mail order.   We ship. See instructions below.

Here are the varieties and descriptions of the seed garlic we grow and sell. We LOVE garlic!

German White         Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
Big bulbs typically yield four huge cloves, range is 3 – 5. Perfect for production pesto making or avid garlic fans. White outer skin, red-brown inner skins. Excellent storage. May be the same as German Stiffneck and/or German Extra Hardy.

Music        Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
An outstanding plant in the field producing very large bulbs.  A starchy-sweet garlic when baked. Described as “very big hot” raw. Will store 9 – 12 months. Very cold tolerant
Georgian Crystal        Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
Large bulbs with 4 – 7 cloves. Clean white appearance. Beautiful fat cloves. Very mild and flavorful raw. Long storing.

Polish Hardneck        Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
Originally from Ontario grower, John Yovanov. Beautiful Porcelain bulbs, 4 – 7 cloves per bulb. Long storage.

Romanian Red         Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
One of the first Porcelains introduced to North America. Brought to British Columbia from Romania. Cloves streaked and lined on buff brown background. Very good storage. Usually 4 – 5 cloves per bulb. Hot and pungent with a healthy, long lasting bite.

Rosewood        Porcelain Variety (Hardneck)
Soft colors on large, fat cloves. Strikingly beautiful large bulbs. Long storing. From USSR.

Co-Op ’90        Artichoke Variety (Softneck)
Seed from local food co-op in Northwestern Massachusetts, grown since 1990. May have been a California variety, but well adapted to New England soils. Good variety for braiding and long storage.

Uncle Louie’s        Artichoke Variety (Softneck)
Seed from Uncle Louis Zocchi, North Adams, Massachusetts. Grown in Southern Vermont since early 1990’s. Well adapted to summer heat. Some years very hot in front of mouth, but very strong garlic flavor.

Inchilium Red        Artichoke Variety (Softneck)
Large-bulbed rigorous strain. In 1990 taste test at Rodale Kitchens, this one was a top-rated softneck. Discovered on the Colville Indian Reservation in Northwestern Washington by Larry Geno; original source unknown. Four to five clove layers with 8 – 20 cloves. Bulbs over 3 inches possible. It seems to have higher soluble solids (i.e. denser, heavier bulbs) than other Artichokes. Mild but lingering flavor with a tingle.

Carpathian        Rocambole Variety (Hardneck)
From Carpathian Mountains of Southwest Poland. Large, uniform bulbs. Few double cloves. Bulb wrappers with thin copper veins and varying purple blotching. Plants are deep green and vigorous. Matures one week after Spanish Roja. Classic garlic flavor, nice overall tang, hot, spicy, strong and garlicky.

Killarney Red        Rocambole Variety (Hardneck)
Outstanding Rocambole from Idaho. Original source is unknown. May have been German Red or Spanish Roja, but now it is superior to both. Better adapted to wet conditions than most others.

Elephant
Not a true garlic, these enormous bulbs have a much milder and sweeter flavor than garlic, as it’s related more closely to a leek. The impressive plants easily reach 4 – 5 feet and the flowers dry nicely for arrangements. Remove the flower heads to promote larger clove size.
